Today, I felt like sketching up this desert-themed sock. As a late-winter blizzard mostly whites out downtown Denver, I can only appreciate what it will feel like when the sun is back again. I imagine a fun, desert landscape with a lone, prickly cactus staring into the sun as if to say, "Where have you been?"
As far as colors go, I chose these rich jewel tones to describe a very lively desert; one with spunk, and character. The thin stripes in the foot help to continue the horizon-pattern throughout the rest of the sock without going overboard. The contrast heel, toe & cuff make for a much more vivid coloration, and I've added a small pop of color on the toe seam as well.
So, I say "Cheers!" to cacti and deserts everywhere, and here's hoping the sun comes out soon!
