As it so happens, I had a birthday recently. Aside from having a day to myself, I also got quite a few thoughtful gifts; one of which I'd like to share here, since it is sock-related. Surprisingly, I received quite a few pairs of socks (I think they're on to me).
One of my best friends, and an amazing illustrator, sent me a delightful little package in the mail, which included not only a great pair of socks, but also a hand-written note that re-affirmed the awesomeness of the gift. Yuko's whimsical work can be viewed here.
More about the socks; this brand has been catching my eye lately as I discover the styles in boutiques across Colorado . Blue Q makes more than just socks though; In addition to the snarky sayings and detailed knit-in designs, they also offer up a slice of humanity. A percentage of the sale of this sock goes to support Doctors Without Borders. You can check out more on their site.
Why am I excited to try these on? They're made of a soft, combed-cotton blend and the detail of the design really captures the energy of what I imagine the original artwork to be.
