Hi All! It’s a happy week - we hope the Sun is shining as much for you as it is for us here in Virginia. This week, The Sock Review is proud to feature a new sock and activewear company called Anatag. Anatag launched earlier this year, and is based out of sunny Miami, Florida. We absolutely love their story and think it’s pretty neat that the name (and art) is inspired by Latin American tribal culture, and created by Latin American creatives / sports enthusiasts - Read on to learn more about them!
Our inspiration comes from Latin American tribes, and just like them, our products are filled with color, life and beauty. - Anatag
What’s in a name? The breakdown of the brand name, Anatag, reveals another level of tribal influence. It’s made of: Ana, meaning “paint” in Wayúu, and Tag, a type of graffiti. Each unique style is inspired by tribal designs or body paint, so be sure to check out more on their site - The designs are bold and relevant, and we love them! Anatag’s line of sock styles are offered in a variety of sizing, and with options of low and high silhouettes, there’s certainly a choice for everyone in their collection.
Feeling sporty? We recommend the Feathered Runner style - pictured below. With just the right amount of select cushion and easy-to-wear fit, these socks are great for outdoor activities. The sample that Anatag was kind enough to send, (thanks, guys!) was the red/black colorway (ankle sock.) Really, the colors are just beautiful - they have a vibrant-earthy feel to them. As far as branding goes, we simply love the screenprinted logo on the back of the heel tab - an ideal solution when considering comfort and wear.
So Soft: Let’s talk about how soft Anatag socks are! Made from Pima cotton which is a softer, and stronger version of ‘standard’ cotton, they are quite comfortable during wear - even when standing on a tree trunk ;). Want to learn more about the materials that go into making these socks? Check it out, here.
Back to you! Tell us what you love about Anatag socks - is it the color, the comfort features, the art? Can you see yourself in a pair? What would you be doing - running, cycling, hiking? Comment below, and tell us what you know!
Fun on Set: One of the best parts of writing these posts are the photos; sometimes, they’re taken in the studio, and sometimes, it just feels right to get outside and go on a little adventure. What are some good places to go? Mostly to parks and beaches around here - places that everyone can relate to. To fit in with Anatag sock designs, we headed to a local nature park - filled with trees and natural sounds; the colors seemed to pop out of the early morning earthen background, and really accentuate the bold and bright designs.
We came across a small pedestrian bridge that looked like a good place to show off the Untamed Rider style - the neutral ground and turquoise contrast worked well in the scenery. These higher silhouettes certainly make a statement, whether you dress them up, or take them to the gym. Courage, strength and character are part of the inspiration for this design. This is one of our favorite colorways from the collection, and we’ll be showing them off on Instagram as well!
That’s a wrap! We hope you have enjoyed this week’s sock feature; thanks again to Anatag, for the brilliant sock samples, and for letting us share their story. Be sure to check out the links below. Until next time!
